Duties on yachts

I would like to know what and if any import duties are payable on new yachts imported from abroad.

There are no import duties in Hong Kong, except for alcohol, I think. Or maybe they just abolished that too. And since there is no VAT (yet), that would not be a problem either. Don't you just luv HK ?

We sailed the new boat back to HK but my husband just registered it under his name and insure it for few thousand only.
However, if you have agent or the shipping company who will bring the yatch to Hk, this is another case. However, the shipping company who will help you ship the yatch should know it. Or buy a fragrant harbour magazine from news stand where you can find lists of companies or agents who know about this matter.
